"Eat like a queen in the morning, a princess in the afternoon, and the maid in the evening" Or maybe the quote you know goes something like this "Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dine like a pauper".  Either way, the point seems clear. The assertion is that the less food you have closer to the end of the day the better.  This logic seemed to make sense to me.

I took a few classes to become a personal trainer that involved us learning not only about exercise but nutrition as well.  I remember learning about the complexities of digestion.  Having complex meals close to bedtime does not aid in digestion.  By "complex" I simply mean the difference between an apple, a whole, single food, and a slice of apple pie, you are consuming all the ingredients that go into that apple pie, and to digest that slice of pie efficiently you may not want to eat it so close to bed time.

Like I said this theory seemed to make great sense to me.  As I got older, I had picked up a habit of frequent snacking, and the snacks closer to bedtime were not the good, whole food kind.  Intermittent fasting was something that could help me with my struggle of evening snacking.

I like the fact that intermittent fasting is not a diet based on only eating certain foods.  Intermittent fasting gives you a pattern of eating.  I use intermittent fasting Every day, starting at 8pm and ending at 7:30 am.  I've been doing this for about 90 days and I can really feel the difference.  I am able to get to sleep a lot easier and I feel light in the mornings, even when I use the bathroom in the morning, let's just say it's a smoother process.
